Some may remember that Jan Lundgren also collaborated with the inspirer and predecessor Bengt Hallberg (1932–2013) just towards the end of his life, which resulted in a CD and duo concerts under the vignette Back 2 Back.
The American tenor saxophonist Harry Allen has been compared to, among others, Stan Getz (1927–91). Allen and Lundgren have previously collaborated in tribute concerts dedicated to predecessors who marked them both, among others Jan Johansson and just Stan Getz. The formation Jan Lundgren/Harry Allen Quartet consists of Harry Allen with the Jan Lundgren Trio: Hans Backenroth double bass and Kristian Leth drummer.
